It's hard to know how to cope with things sometimes. The gym isn't always my escape. Working out has actually been the last of my priorities since Wednesday. It's crazy how your life, or life as you know it anyways, can change in a matter of minutes. So when I'm lost and don't know what to do or what comes next.. I turn to what I know. What comforts me. Gymnastics. Music. Drawing. It's not all lifting, all the time.
God didn't create any of us to be average. He didn't make us to barely get by. We were created to excel. To excel in righteousness and generosity and grace. Let everything you do honor God! #JFit#JSTFIT#JesusXFitness#JFitElite

I feel like a lot of women might be intimated of the term "bodybuilding" because they don't want to end up looking too muscular. I've said it before and I'll say it again, building muscle isn't easy! It takes years of consistency, lifting, progressive overload, eating more NOT less, and DEDICATION. Bodybuilding shouldn't be something to be afraid of, you're literally building the body you want!! I BUILT this by training like a bodybuilder. You can too! Step into the weights section at your gym 😇 Once you start to see and feel the progress it becomes addicting in the best way! #SweatySaturday 💦
What did you train today?
Triceps rope pushdown. These are one of my favorite tricep workouts when done correctly. Most people will grab the rope and then during the rep will bend the rope because their wrists are locked. Intuitively keeping your wrists locked would make sense but flexing against the rope causes more strain to be placed on the shoulders rather than the triceps. During this lift try relaxing your wrists and allow them to rotate during the rep so that the ROPE STAYS STRAIGHT. DM me if you have any questions on this. #triceps @1stphorm always keeping my body properly fueled during these long fasted lifts.
Check out that #armday#pump 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 Super not cute post-lifting face but I wanted to clear up some common misconceptions for anyone who may be starting their fitness journey. As someone who carries a lot of fat genetically in my arms they've always been my biggest insecurity (even at my thinnest). Because of this I was afraid to lift heavy and train arms too much because I didn't want to build bulky muscle under the fat retained and increase the overall size of them (which I feel is something a lot of people worry about, especially my girls out there). 1. It's hard to put on muscle mass. Like people struggle to bulk when that's their fitness goal. If you're dieting and at a caloric deficit, you're NOT going to increase your bulk by much at all since (besides newbie gains) you generally have to be at a caloric surplus to achieve bulking.
2. Becoming more muscular will not make your arms look bigger! Arm fat is carried almost always at the back of the arm, so training biceps and shoulders can create a more lifted and toned look in your arm which gives the illusion of the arm being less fatty and therefore smaller. Built shoulders will also create a v shape from your shoulders to waist, making your waist look slimmer 😏
The moral of the story is don't be afraid to train arms and lift heavy!!
I may not be in my PRIME Peak of my health but the strength I'm enduring in my upper body is starting to shine!!! Have you ever workout when it's 100 degrees outside and you wrists start to sweat?!? I did and now I FEEL AMAZING just in time to CELEBRATE my little SIS getting married!!!! #strongissexy#crossfittraining#crossfitmom#armday#flex#weekendwarrior
Nothing wrong with a cheeky flex between studies aye? I live in these study rooms throughout the semester. About to submit a final paper and that's 4 years 3 summers of classes under my belt. Exhausting week, but the vision never deters. Honours or nothing. Times like these I remind myself where I came from, which was a complete academic failure. Been told time and time again how statistically impossible it has been for the last 3 years to climb into the honours threshold from absolute failure. It's been my key motivation, and what makes me tackle each day and appreciate every moment.
