I always save my sewing fabric offcuts to use for patchwork or stuffing because I'm loath to throw away a resource.
I was gifted these indigo Moda 2.5 inch squares when I was pregnant with my eldest four years ago and I've been saving them for just the right project.
It just so happens that a lot of my scrap fabrics were in a similar colour scheme so today, I started cutting out as many squares of the same size as possible. I'm looking forward to piecing these together. I'm still deciding if it will be by hand or if I should break out my machine...
Now we are ten... It's looking decidedly wavy at the moment, but I am up to 10 rows with my Thimble quilt. I had a short foray into machining, but I couldn't get the accuracy I wanted with such small pieces. I'm even enjoying joining the rows together by hand. Once you get round the idea that this is not a quick project, it is great fun to do. This is such a personal project, and no two will ever be the same.
