The key to any successful training plan is intensity. The body responds to the stress placed on it, only when you push yourself to your limits will it adapt and grow muscle mass.
There is hundreds of different training styles, all of which work for certain people. But without intensity they are all useless.
Train with purpose, make every session count, and never just go through the movements.
Intensity is key guys.
