'The Stern of The Beaumaris'
Image taken circa 1929, Broadstairs, Viking Bay, Thanet, Kent, England (image restored).
------------------------------------ 'Godfrey's Dream' Book Three (Excerpt) 'The Beaumaris'
------------------------------------ Godfrey looked over the edge of the longboat, just to check if there were any naked damsels, swimming alongside, but the water was quite still and devoid of any nude, wet, singing maidens.
He examined the vessel which seemed solid and sound. The name written in gold lettering on the side read, 'The Beaumaris'. Strangely, the words were not written in runic script, but in a language he had not known before. Nevertheless he seemed able to read it perfectly, although its meaning was not quite clear, 'a nice name for a boat', he thought to himself.
He looked along the port side, and could see that there was a narrow walkway that stretched around to the stern, leading to the carved mounted figure of a mermaid or goddess. Unusually such an effigy shouldn't have faced inward, toward the bow, over looking the cabin, and instead would have been mounted upon the bough, overlooking the water ahead. This puzzled Godfrey and he wondered if perhaps this was from where one could steer the boat, after all he was alone upon this, seemingly enchanted vessel, and he needed to gain control of it.

By now The Beaumaris had picked up speed and a favourable wind, creaking and rocking from side to side, as she cut through the clear blue water, parting the majestic green mist, which was now quite opaque.
Godfrey carefully shuffled along the gangway to the statue, and looked up at her perfectly formed face, it was truly beautiful, the finely carved form resembled the princess, and she was decorated in gold and blue.

Perhaps this was the likeness of some deity, or a woman of note that had once lived, perhaps she was somehow lost, but then her beauty preserved within the sculpted effigy, so that her spirit would never truly die.

'Sleepwalkers'
Kings Cross, London, 25.03.2017
------------------------------------ Sleepwalk (poem)
------------------------------------------- I think,
I'll sleepwalk,
all my days,
gazing through,
an ethereal haze,
sometimes sleeping,
sometimes shaking,
sometimes healing,
often breaking,
following,
waiting,
anticipating,
sculpting this thing,
that I am creating,
never knowing,
who I am,
sometimes,
wondering,
if I can,
aware my time,
is running out,
this substance,
I can't live without,
it cries to me,
from up above,
a simple thing,
this thing called,
Love.

Perhaps,
the reason,
for existence,
is to search,
with such,
persistence,
for this blessed,
subtle force,
emitted from,
some hidden,
source,
to find,
to fall in,
to loose,
to seek,
to yearn for,
perhaps,
to speak of,
Love,
appears to be,
the reason why,
I sleepwalk,
lest I wake,
and die.

'The Land of Two Suns'
Bilting, England, 25.03.17 -------------------------------------- Arcadia (Poem Extract)
--------------------------------------- Above Arcadia, there shone two suns, and the earth yielded plenty for everyone, and looking upon this thing he did make, God secretly feared, that one day it could break......
........ and lo, that sun gave up its warm, as it's heat succumbed to the covering swarm, of Angels, who battled together, but alas a sun was lost forever, yet in a bid to preserve some light, the moon was born that very night, now darkness would rein for half of the day, and so it would always remain that way. ----------------------------------- Lucky Ajax International Art & Photography

'The Cup of Gold'
------------------------------------ Arcadia (Poem Excerpt)
-------------------------------------------- The Ring, The Spear, The Cup of Gold, now objects of legend, a tale of old, Arcadia vanished from history's pages, slowly forgotten across the ages.

Yet Wotan had not given up on existence, as he wondered the earth in his persistence, to find a solution and mend the machine, rather then give up, on his beautiful dream. ------------------------------------------- Lucky Ajax International Art & Photography
